Chinese Calligraphy Course Launched at the ELTE Confucius Institute

The ELTE Confucius Institute launched its popular 10-week Chinese calligraphy course on October 6, 2025. This semester, 18 participants are studying the fundamentals and advanced techniques of Chinese calligraphic art under the guidance of calligrapher and typographer Janisz Horváth.
Classes are held every Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Beginners learn correct hand posture, stroke order, and the proper use of brush and ink while practicing basic characters, while advanced students work on various calligraphic styles.
Janisz Horváth has been giving calligraphy and painting demonstrations at the institute since 2015 and has regularly led its art courses since 2017. The current course will conclude on December 15, and the next calligraphy course is planned for March 2026.
