More Successes for ELTE Confucius Institute Students (18th Chinese Bridge)

2025. June 06.

On June 6, 2025, the national final of the 18th Chinese Bridge Chinese Language Competition was held. This event also served as the Hungarian preliminary round for the global competi-tion aimed at high school students.

The program was jointly organized by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Hun-gary and the Hungarian–Chinese Bilingual Primary and Secondary School.

At the opening ceremony, Dr. Zsuzsanna Erdélyi, principal of the Hungarian–Chinese Bi-lingual Primary and Secondary School, welcomed participants as the event’s host, followed by a greeting from Gong Tao, the Chinese ambassador to Hungary.

The spotlight then turned to the students, who competed in three different categories. In the first round, participants demonstrated their Chinese language proficiency. In the second round, they showcased their knowledge of Chinese culture and geography by answering quiz questi-ons. In the final round, they impressed the audience with performances of Chinese cultural presentations.

Thirteen competitors from the five Confucius Institutes in Hungary participated in the compe-tition. Based on the jury’s decision, the first prize was awarded to Balázs Hrabóczki, a student at the Hungarian–Chinese Bilingual School, who will represent Hungary at the global finals in China.

Students from the ELTE Confucius Institute also achieved excellent results. Blanka Lili Jánosi and Kristóf Vadász shared third place, while Maxim Erdős received a special prize. In the elementary school category, Hanna Lilla Földvári also received a special prize.

Congratulations to all of them for their outstanding achievements!
