The ELTE Confucius Institute started teaching taiji to undergraduates

2023. September 12.

Our great wish has come true, as in September we started our taiji classes as VTN-coded classes, i.e. credit hours that can be taken up by any ELTE student.

We are pleased to announce that from September 12, every Tuesday from 8:30 to 9:30 am, Sára Krémer, a certified wushu instructor, will be teaching taiji classes for ELTE students. In the spacious hall of the BEAC, a total of 15 students will learn this unique Far Eastern sport, with the aim of demonstrating a 10-movement form exercise at the end of the semester.

Participants learn the basic moves of taiji.

The course introduces participants not only to the ten basic movements of the aforementioned yang style of taiji, but also to the origins, cultural and philosophical background of this distinctive martial art, including Chinese medicine and yin and yang theory.

Taiji has many beneficial effects on the human body, such as relieving stress and improving the sense of balance, but it also has a great added value mentally, as it makes us more balanced in the long run.
