Chen Kun, Education Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Hungary, Visits Eötvös Loránd University

On the afternoon of November 18, Education Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Hungary Mr. Chen Kun and Second Secretary of the Embassy's Cultural and Educational Office Mr. Sun Liwei attended the opening ceremony of the 10th Central and Eastern European Chinese Teacher Training Course and visited Eötvös Loránd University. Counsellor Chen Kun and his delegation were greeted warmly by President of Eötvös Loránd University Dr. László Borhy. The meeting was also attended by former Hungarian Ambassador to China Cecília Szilas; General Manager of China Railway Hungary Co., Ltd., Dr. Lu Bo; Vice President of Eötvös Loránd University and Director of the Central and Eastern European Chinese Language Teacher Training Center Dr. Imre Hamar; and Chinese President of the ELTE Confucius Institute Li Denggui.


President Dr. László Borhy first thanked Counsellor Chen Kun for attending the opening ceremony of the 10th Central and Eastern European Chinese Teacher Training Course, and thanked the Chinese Embassy in Hungary for its years of support in promoting educational exchange between Eötvös Loránd University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, and other Chinese universities, as well as its guidance and assistance to the Central and Eastern European Chinese Teacher Training Center and the ELTE Confucius Institute. Counselor Chen Kun thanked Eötvös Loránd University, one of Hungary's most renowned higher education institutions, for its exemplary and leading role in promoting exchange and cooperation in the field of higher education between China and Hungary, and especially Dr. László Borhy, president of the Hungarian University Alliance, for his outstanding contribution to promoting exchange and cooperation in the field of education and humanities between China and Hungary.


After the opening ceremony, Counsellor Chen Kun and Vice President Hao Qingxin held in-depth discussions and reached an agreement on how to give full play to the influence and regional advantages of Eötvös Loránd University, further expand the new field of educational and cultural exchange between China and Hungary, and promote its multi-level and high-quality development.
