Our Institute’s director prof Dr. Imre Hamar has received an award
2021. September 27.
On the 27th of September 2021 the Chinese Language Education Foundation organised the Confucius Institutes’ Day. The aim of this event is to recognise and appreciate the work of Confucius Institutes around the world. During the ceremony 75 Chinese and foreign directors who lead their Institutes for more than a decade were awarded with the “Medal for Long Service as a Confucius Institute Director”. Prof. Dr. Imre Hamar, the director of ELTE Confucius Institute, Vice Rector for International Affairs at ELTE and director of the Institute of East Asian Studies received this medal as well.
ELTE Confucius Institute was founded in December of 2006 – it was the first Chinese cultural institute in Hungary - it is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. Prof Dr. Imre Hamar has been at the helms of our Institute since the beginning. In its one and a half decade’s history, our Institute has received a number of awards, and it has grown to be one of the most important Institute for Chinese Education and Culture in Hungary.
