Three suitable courses for complete beginners in calligraphy!

On 20 October, the ELTE Confucius Institute started a new calligraphy course for complete beginners. The classes were held by Janisz Horváth, calligrapher and Chinese painting instructor. The three 90-minute sessions were attended by 16 non-native Chinese-speaking students with backgrounds in different fields of study, but all of them were enthusiastic about learning about the Far Eastern art form.
Janisz Horváth, a senior art instructor at the ELTE Confucius Institute, has been committed to promoting Chinese culture, especially Chinese art for decades. The aim of the recent course was not only to introduce the participants to the world of Chinese calligraphy on a theoretical and practical level but also to give them an insight into Chinese thinking and thus a better understanding of Chinese culture by introducing them to the special Chinese characters.
