Eleventh training course of the ELTE Central and Eastern European Regional Teacher Training Centre was successfully completed

2023. November 16.

ELTE's 11th Central and Eastern European Teacher Training Course started with an impressive opening ceremony. After the welcoming speeches, participants were treated to a concert by students from the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music. The event saw more than 80 Chinese teachers develop their language teaching skills over three days at ELTE.

The training was opened by Prof. Dr Imre Hamar, Vice Rector for International Affairs of ELTE and Head of the ELTE Central and Eastern European Regional Teacher Training Centre; Dr Li Denggui, Chinese Director of the ELTE Confucius Institute; and Dr Ye Qiuyue, Director of Education of the ELTE Central and Eastern European Regional Teacher Training Centre.

This year, the participants of the multi-day course again attended useful lectures to support their work as language teachers. Márta Barbarics, a lecturer at the ELTE English-American Institute and the Department of English Language Pedagogy, gave a presentation on gamification, while Meng Dehong, Professor at BFSU, and Lu Yun, Associate Dean of Peking University, gave a presentation on effective Chinese language teaching and language competence development.

This event marked the 11th edition of the international training course since 2013.
